As the Office Partner, Sam Houston leads all office development and investment for HPI. Sam helped grow HPI’s office portfolio from 2 people and 30,000 SF in 1995 – to overseeing a management and leasing team of 90 people, with an active portfolio of over 5 Million square feet of institutionally and privately-owned office assets across Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. Sam has been directly involved in developments, acquisitions, and dispositions of office projects with a total asset-value of almost $1 Billion. Sam has overseen the development of over 3 Million square feet of office projects, including Barton Oaks Plaza III & IV, San Clemente at Davenport, and the most recent Domain Tower. Prior to joining HPI in 1995, Sam served as project leasing director for Charter Companies in Austin. For more than 4 years he worked as a leasing agent for Capital Associates in Raleigh, N.C. and was a broker at Cushman & Wakefield’s Raleigh office from 1987 to 1989.

As the Industrial Partner, Andy Thomas leads all industrial development and investment for HPI. Andy also directly oversees a management and leasing team of 60 people, with an active portfolio of over 12 Million square feet of institutionally and privately-owned industrial assets across Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. Through 20 years, Andy has been directly involved in acquisitions, dispositions, and financing of industrial projects with a total asset-value of over $1 Billion. Industrial developments led by Andy have totaled over 10 Million square feet, including Airport Commerce Park, Davis Springs Corporate Center, and most recently Freeport Technology Center and Hays Logistics Center. Andy began his career with Colliers, Turly, Martin & Tucker in Kansas City working as an industrial broker directly under the firm’s managing partner. He moved to Austin to join HPI in 2000.

As the Dallas Partner, John is responsible for overseeing Dallas’ day-to-day operations and business developments including property acquisition, development, and operations, with a focus on office and industrial assets. While at HPI, he has been involved in the investment, financing, and execution of over $800 MM in office, industrial, multifamily, and retail projects. John joined HPI in 2007 after graduating with an MBA from the McCombs School of Business. Prior to McCombs, John spent five years at Banc of America Securities performing mergers, acquisitions and capital raising. He is on the Advisory Board of the Dallas Regional Chamber, an Advisory Member of the McCombs Real Estate Finance and Investment Council, and a Board Member of the NAIOP North Texas Chapter.

As the Office Project Partner, Richard is responsible for overseeing HPI’s Austin office portfolio. To date, he has been instrumental in the development and lease execution of over 1 MM square feet of Class A office assets. As a fifteen year veteran of HPI, Richard has consistently been recognized as a leader among the Austin brokerage community. He has the skill-set and knowledge to perform at every level, and the experience to serve both large, institutional investors (Invesco, Spear Street Capital, Prudential and TA Realty) to local property owners. Before joining HPI in September 2002, Richard worked for five years as a sales manager in the high-tech industry. From 1995 through 1997, he worked for a property management company in Teton Village in Jackson, Wyoming. Richard is a Houston native and earned a degree in business administration from the University of Texas in Austin.

As HPI’s Industrial Project Partner, Davis is directly involved in industrial development, leasing, and acquisitions/dispositions for both institutional and private investment clients. Davis’ specialty is in customer service with a focus on building long-term relationships with his clients. Since 2013, Davis has consistently been recognized as a top CoStar Power Broker, as well as being recognized as the Austin Business Journal’s #1 Heavy Hitter from 2015 to 2017. Prior to joining HPI, Davis attended Trinity University where he earned a B.S. in Finance while spending four years on the Trinity football team.

Hunter joined HPI in July of 2015. As the Dallas Office Project Partner, he is responsible for overseeing HPI’s office leasing and management services in Dallas. Hunter is also involved in sourcing office investments in the DFW Metroplex. Focusing on office assets, he currently oversees over 2 MM square feet of assets. Prior to joining HPI, Hunter was with CBRE for over five years. Hunter was born and raised in Canyon, Texas before attending Baylor University. He resides in East Dallas with his wife Tayler, and their son Meyer.

Mark leads HPI’s industrial leasing in Dallas, as well as being responsible for identifying and executing acquisition and development opportunities. Prior to joining HPI in 2018, Mark was with Stream Realty Partners as a Senior Associate within the Dallas office division. Before joining Stream, he completed Fidelity Investments General Management Apprenticeship Program. Mark earned his MBA from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University. He also served for over six years in the US Navy as a member of SEAL Team Seven.
